Minimum order quantity is one bag. Most of our products come in 25kg bags, however some are 30kg, 50kg or bulk bags.
Yes, our online shop offers 1kg packs of most of our product categories. For larger quantities, we need to prepare a custom quotation depending on quantity, location and whether you want delivery or not. Please feel free to request a quote.
Although you can place an order by phone, we prefer that you email your order to the following two email addresses: admin@kaolin.co.za (Louise) and orders@kaolin.co.za (Lynray). Louise and Lynray are the ladies at our office who process the orders. So for fastest service, please make sure they both receive your orders (other staff members may be out of office and cannot respond quickly).
Monday to Friday, 07h30 to 16h30. Except for Cape Town, which closes at 15h30 on Fridays.
By courier: 3 to 5 days. By truck: usually within 3 days. Collection: 24 hours from receipt of proof of payment.
We offer delivery for 2 ton lots and upwards. Smaller quantities should be collected from our warehouse; however we can prepare a special quote including delivery if required.

Our pallets are non-returnable and there is no pallet deposit.
No, the South African postal service has become unreliable, so we prefer Postnet-to-Postnet or courier for sending samples and 1kg packs.

Pallet size varies by product. For example, the pallet size is 1350kg for ASCOM 5, ASCOM 10, ASCOM 50T, ASCOM 30T and G3000. Email us for pallet sizes of the other products.
The water-washing process removes impurities such as silica and mica. A water-washed kaolin will be a much purer kaolin than a milled kaolin, where all the impurities are milled in together with the kaolin.
No, most of our grades are industrial grades and not suitable for food applications.
B.P. means British Pharmacopoeia. SERINA B.P. GRADE kaolin conforms to the physical and chemical purity required by the British Pharmacopoeia 2000, as determined by the test methods defined in that specification.
Our ECCABOND N and ECCACAT bentonite grades are sodium bentonite.

SERINA B.P. GRADE kaolin, PHARMATALC talc and BENTOPHARM bentonite. For soap laundry bars, we recommend the more cost-effective KAOLIN A.
ASCOM 2 is a fine white calcium carbonate grade that we recommend for making chalk paints.
Bentonite is only effective for lining large dams with gradually sloping sides. It is not suitable for ponds with straight sides because the bentonite falls to the bottom and cannot form a seal. We recommend you consult a pond specialist, as this is not our area of expertise.
All prices are quoted per metric ton, exclusive of VAT.
This can be calculated when you know the pallet size and the price-per-ton. For example, for a 1.35t pallet, multiply the price-per-ton by 1.35 to get the price for one pallet.

Terms for new and once-off buyers are payment in advance. Regular customers can apply for an account to pay at 30 days from statement, however this will be subject to credit approval and cover by Credit Guarantee.

Yes, the price for a full truckload is usually lower than the price for one or two tons. Please feel free to request a quote.
Yes, we usually offer a discount for payment in advance, except where the price offered is already a special price.
